Anna Damanaki studied dentistry at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. From 2007 to 2011, she was a resident physician in the Department of Oral Surgery at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, where she specialized in oral surgery. From 2012 to 2014, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Clinical Research Unit 208 (“Aetiology and Sequelae of Periodontal Diseases: Genetic, Cell Biological, and Biomechanical Aspects”) at the Center for Dento-Maxillo-Facial Medicine at the University of Bonn. From 2013 to 2016, she was a resident physician in the Department of Oral Surgery at the University of Bonn. In 2015, she earned her doctorate from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. From 2015 to 2018, she continued her academic career as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Section of Experimental Dento-Maxillo-Facial Medicine at the University of Bonn. From 2017 to 2018, she worked as an oral surgeon in a private dental practice in Cologne, Germany. From 2018 to 2019, she was a research associate and resident physician in the Department of Periodontology and Operative Dentistry at the University Medical Center of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Since 2019, she has worked in the same department as a research associate and senior physician. In 2023, she completed a Master of Science in Periodontology at RWTH Aachen University.
